If you don’t qualify for Illinois Solar For All (more information here: https://bnenergybright.org/illinois-solar-for-all/), or don’t want the hassle of installing panels on your roof, then community solar is a great option to go solar and save money on your energy bill. Community Solar involves subscribing to a solar farm to have a portion, or all, of your electricity supplied from there, at a cheaper rate than typical utilities.
Many companies already offer community solar programs throughout the state. These include:

Ampion
Solstice
ClearWay
Common Energy
and many more. If you live in McLean County, you can subscribe to any of these as long as they operate in Ameren territory (Corn Belt Customers are not eligible). For more information about these programs, visit the Illinois Citizen’s Utility Board website. A link is provided below.
