Municipal Electric Aggregation

The City of Bloomington and the Town of Normal are part of the Municipal Electric Aggregation program through Homefield Energy. Aggregation allows our community to pool together and collectively purchase an electricity contract with a lower rate than if we each had to purchase electricity individually.

For residential customers and small businesses that are in the program, the only thing that changes is the rate — Ameren still supplies the electricity and provides energy services. All users were automatically enrolled and are part of the program unless they completed and returned an opt-out letter. As an added bonus, 100% of the electricity supplied comes from renewable energy credits.

For more information about the program, visit the City of Bloomington’s website or the Town of Normal’s website. Homefield Energy also has resources for users in Bloomington and Normal.
